On May 24th, we will celebrate the first anniversary of my own KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. We still can’t believe how blessed and lucky we are to be offered this second chance at life. Being a diabetic for over 35 years has given us a unique perspective on how one feels when they’re diabetic. The doctor tells you about your new challenges that will come before you, but can’t explain the fear you are facing or the many questions that you will think about long after that appointment. We can. We have.
We will if you contact us on our website:
sidneythekidneymachine.com
Our support group is here for you 24/7/365 to answer those questions and help you deal with the fear that comes from this debilitating disease. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
I am very proud of the work we have accomplished during this past year and promise to be there for you. Remember, there is never any fee for our services
Nobody takes a salary, no corp. sponsorship exists. We are here to pay it forward, to give back to you. Yes, we relish the smiles we create after one phone call.
I spoke for two hours to a man in Israel last week. He was afraid to begin dialysis. At the end of our lengthy conversation he decided to begin dialysis & therefore save his own life. We joked about how this process would change he life and how to cope with the challenges that he may face. I will only share my own experiences and will never give any medical info. He wanted me to call him SYDNEY.
He felt better calling me by that
name as well. You can call me anything, just CALL. This is your new best friend, BOBBY, saying good night and pleasant dreams. As my friend, the late JIMMY BUFFET, would always say: “Breathe in, Breathe out then MOVE ON!” 3:03 am Sun
Bobby, Susan & Sydney love u.
PIG KIDNEY STILL OPERATES PERFECTLY SAYS THE ANGELS WHO MAKE UP THE BOSTON TRANSPLANT TEAM.
So, how’s SIDNEY doing? When asked that simple question, my answer:feeling great & grateful.
Our dream team at the CLEVELAND CLINIC FLORIDA
test our blood every month and
tell us that our labs are perfect. Sydney is doing just fine, we are functioning as if we were born with 22 year old inside us. Yes, we have gained weight, but they tell us that it is to be expected. We do more exercise everyday. We eat properly. We sleep better and better. All of our systems are functioning as they expect. Many better. The weight loss is a slow process, but it’s certainly worth the wait.
We got the call from the CCF on
MAY 24th last year at 3:20 pm.
Dialysis stopped, what did we do with those 600+ hours of FREE TIME? The answer is simple: What ever we wanted to do. More time with family and friends. More sleep. Many more smiles. Our quality of life was improved 100 fold. My sweet Susan relaxed for the first time in 4 years and is looking forward to our retirement in MOUNT AIRY NC in our new home. Love you all. Sydney the Kidney Machine.
