Try to keep warm. This blanket was made for Bobby by another

Dialysis patient in Punta Gorda. I used it every session. Thanks Sadie.
Here are some things you should bring to a dialysis session:

  • Your identification and insurance information. This is essential for the dialysis staff to be able to track your care and bill your insurance company.
  • Your medications. Make sure to bring all of the medications you take on a regular basis, including prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • A snack and drink. You may feel hungry or thirsty during your dialysis session, so it's a good idea to bring a snack and drink with you.
  • Comfortable clothes. You'll be sitting in a chair for several hours during your dialysis session, so make sure to wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in.
  • A blanket and pillow. Some dialysis centers can get chilly, so a blanket and pillow can help you stay warm.
  • A book, magazine, or other activity. You may want to bring something to do to pass the time during your dialysis session.
  • A phone or laptop. If you want to stay connected with the outside world, you may want to bring your phone or laptop with you.
  • A list of questions. If you have any questions about your dialysis treatment, be sure to bring them with you to your session.

Here are some additional things you may want to bring, depending on your personal preferences:

  • Earphones or earplugs. If you're sensitive to noise, you may want to bring earphones or earplugs to block out the sound of the dialysis machine.
  • A hat or scarf. If you get cold easily, you may want to bring a hat or scarf to keep you warm.
  • A change of clothes. In case you have an accident or spill something on your clothes, you may want to bring a change of clothes with you.

It's a good idea to check with your dialysis center to see what items are allowed and what items are not allowed. This will help you make sure you bring the right things with you to your session.
